![]() ![]() I own Mixed In Key, Odesi, and the Captain Plug-ins. I feel taken advantage of as a producer and DJ who supports the Mixed In Key family of products. Additionally, there seems to be no way to link my accounts, meaning I have to import my mobile sessions even if I decided to pay the extra $5 to gain the feature. I downloaded the iOS version so I could seamlessly work between them when I travel however, this is not feasible without having to spend extra money to unlock the midi export feature. I own the desktop version of this app, and I like it a lot. If the developers could add a longer time for the recordings, as well as easy syncing between their apps, I’d probably rate this 5 stars. Being able to export MIDI for $5 isn’t bad as it’s nice to be able open it up in GarageBand iOS for further tweaking, but I’d like to be able to sketch out more than just 4 bars in Odesi Chords before going to another app. ![]() I don’t really mind the limited instruments in the free version as I plan to import my sketches into the desktop version and will adjust the instruments there, but it would be nice to be able to easily link my iPhone version of this app with my iPad version, as well as a streamlined sync with the desktop version, so that I can have a better workflow. The biggest frustration for me is being limited to just 4 bars when other free apps (such as Medly) allow one to make an extended sketch. I own Captain Chords and the desktop version of Odesi, both of which I love, but I must agree with the other reviewers who feel that this app is close but really lacking. * Export your finished song as an audio or MIDI file to share with friends or bandmates and start collaborating now (MIDI export requires In-App Purchase) * Choose from a bank of high-quality, popular sounds * Craft original compositions that follow the same ideas as today's hottest music * Ability to apply custom rhythms to basslines and chords for an infinite number of possible combinations * Deep customization of chord progressions * Fastest way to write a 16-beat chord progression that's 100% custom and unique * Produce great music on the fly, anywhere, anytime Odesi Chords, tap into your musical genius! Odesi is available now for $49, and Mixed in Key plans to offer a 30-installment video series breaking down popular songs by Daft Punk, Diplo and many others to help you further understand how a hit is made.Odesi Chords is a sonic sketch pad for making great 4-bar compositions. When looked at from another angle, many of the most popular songs operate on a very basic chord progression, and Odesi can even help you unlock the key to what other successful producers have done in terms of song structure. It can also take collaboration to the next level, making it even easier to share ideas with other producers. However, if you think of Odesi as a scratch pad, it can be a powerful tool in forming quick ideas to take even further in your DAW. Now, many may consider Odesi software “cheating” and liken it to the sync button. You have the liberty to change the groove and the chord specifics, and then you can export the audio or MIDI to your favorite DAW. It comes loaded with hundreds of common chord progressions you choose one, and a corresponding bassline that matches it in key will be created. The software aids users in melody, chord and bassline creation. With every new software innovation the company introduces, they seem to be making it even easier for DJs and producers to get work done, and the same can be said for Odesi, their newest brand that takes the guesswork out of building a song. ![]() And while both the accuracy and ease of the company’s flagship software has been called into question, it has without a doubt become a part of every DJ’s arsenal and the reason why key recognition has been included in other popular DJ software like Traktor and Serato. It isn’t like harmonic mixing didn’t exist before Mixed in Key they just made it infinitely easier to do. ![]()
